President Barack Obama

Good Evening!

So I guess you all just went crazy along with everybody else this tuesday? Huh?
Did you watch the news when Barack Obama got closer and closer to the seat? Over here we didn’t. We sleep at that time - or at least we used to. This election wrote TV history. Everybody I met the next day was red eyed and/or hung-over from the party. I really felt miserable AND boring. But I did get up at 5 in time to watch both candidates speak. I was woken up by my wife saying something like: ‘Get up dear, the winner is about to speak in a moment.’ After Obama, McCain got a re-run.

And thursday everything went back to normal.

Friday my wife got back in the picture. Why not just re-arrange the Mitt Romney song from Week 6 for an Obama special? I must admit I liked the idea. First of all because I think the Mitt Romney song was a true moment of brilliance from yours truly. Modesty? WHAT? Second because the melody has some positive qualities that suits a winner as well as a looser. And third, because the Mitt Romeny song suggests Barack Obama would be the winner. And I wrote that in February! How about that? CNN, when are you gonna call?

I guess this is the end of One Weekly Gun’s election coverage. Now it’s time for the news!

Don’t forget you can now import all the songs from One Weekly Gun directly into ITunes! Just click the logo above to the right. And if you want to get it all inside a RSS-Reader the orange object to the left is what you’re looking for.

Dearest friends, I have come here with an answer
To the question you posed, when you founded this land
We will march from the boiles and the cancer
Led by he, who is half afro-american

There’s a comfort in the winner
We will substitute the lame
Though a handsome beginner,
Not a part of the game.
With the strength in the weekness, this is not a perfect man
Yet the feeling we get, we understand.

On the screen is a picture of Obama
With his hands in the air and a smile on his face.
By the wall is Alaska’s docudrama
Salty tears on the suit melts the colours away.

We will grasp our common future
And we’ll shake each others hands.
We will fight for the outcome
And we’ll try to understand
How the world can be changed just by our hopes and dreams.
It’s no more as absurd as it seemed.

We salute to the coming generations
who will learn from our times and the struggles we see
We’ll let burn the stained and torn pages
Of the book from yesterday
Write tomorrow’s victory
