I know this is a touchy subject, but I had to do this.
I respect all religious people. There I said it.
But the guys who conducts the business from the church pedestals are often making a fool of themselves.
The Catholic Church has really made a mess of itself the past weeks.
Not only did the Archbishop Don Jose Cardoso Sobrinho of Recife excommunicate a doctor who performed an abortion on a 9 year old girl from Brazil, who was pregnant with twins after being raped by her stepfather.
The Pope also went to Cameroon and spoke against the use of condoms.
Come on!
What is this church doing? Why does it deliberately advocate against helping the suffering? Yes, we DO want to end the terror of AIDS in the world. Africa is the place to start. Why not help the masses to avoid it by slipping a piece of rubber over their Johnsons?
And what is this thing with putting God’s laws over the physical and mental health of and innocent girl, who has been the victim of horrific crimes? Where in God’s name is the point in that? I get so ANGRY! … and I lie sleepless beacuse of this idiotic and cruel behaviour of a very powerful organization.
So many people in the world listen carefully to these men of righteousness. Their power is terrifying.
Especially when stupidity is flowing from their mouths.
This song is called Downer.

Get a dose of the downer
Let the Lord know we’re breeding again
Even though you’re a minor
Come on! We have to win this 7 billion race
Get behind the reaper
Get in line and start beating the drum
I know folks that are meaner
Come on! We have to move before the damage is done
Here come the downer, downer, down.
(we are in line, but we’ll stay at the end)
Here come the downer, downer, down.
All around we are misfits
Got a feeling we’re going to hell
To conduct our business
Come on! We move or lie in symmetric shapes
Here come the downer, downer, down.
(we are in line, but we’ll stay at the end)
Here come the downer, downer, down.

Hello,
I want to acknowledge your comment because I think that it is awesome that you care about the suffering and hurting in this world and want to do something about it. I just want to shed a little light on the thought, “And what is this thing with putting God’s laws over the physical and mental health of and innocent girl, who has been the victim of horrific crimes? Where in God’s name is the point in that?”. The catholic church is not clinging to the letter of the law and forgetting the human heart but it instead upholds “God laws” in order to safeguard the human heart. Let me explain. The 9 yr old girl you spoke of has suffered a great evil but to take from her life, to add death upon death will only in the long run bring more shame, guilt, and pain to this girl’s life. So often in this world we believe in quick fixes. When you stated , ‘Why not help the masses to avoid it by slipping a piece of rubber over their Johnsons?” illustrates this point. This is not going help them but lead to depression, hopelessness, guilt, loss of freedom and happiness. Then we wonder why, when we have so much, is there so much pain in this country and world. To say just stop the repercussions of the action is to fix the situation as if the action did not occur denies all logic. In retrospect with more study I think you may be able to find that the church is trying to uphold reverence for the humanity and instill life in places where death abides. Thank you for time, passion and search for truth.
Dear arborvitae03
“To say just stop the repercussions of the action is to fix the situation as if the action did not occur denies all logic.”
What kind of action are we talking about here?
Sexy action?
Well, people are gonna have sex, and I am not gonna deny that.
Sex is great. Sex with a condom is not great, I admit, but it’s better than getting a deadly desease. So I would think, that beacuse you use a rubber in AIDS heavy areas, you don’t wind up depressed and unhappy. And in the greater perspective, we actually are preventing the spreading of pain.
Indeed there is enough pain in the world.
It’s rude and ignorant, to say the least, to claim that the life of this girl would actually become worse after an abortion. Where are your manners?
It seems that arborvitae03 was addressing abortion with the line, “To say just stop the repercussions of the action…”
But to continue the thoughts–
I wonder why people think that an abortion somehow absolves one of the emotional and psychological traumas of unwanted pregnancies; in fact they seem to ignore the traumas that occur as a result of abortion. The truth is that, yes you are free of physical consequence, but one is then faced with a whole host of emotional costs that are specifically tied to the abortion process, seemingly similar to that of a miscarriage—a different situation but a similar physical loss.
I believe what arborvitae03 was attempting to say is that abortion is another tumultuous emotional action upon the shell-shocking evil of rape. The consequence of an abortion is a physical release of the child within, obviously, but the heart, the soul, the emotional trauma is two-fold on top of that. There is no child, or twins in this case, but—not to make an appeal to ignorance—are we really in the position to comment upon how this would ease the trauma done to this young girl? Who’s to say it would help her? Who’s to say it wouldn’t? There seems to be shame in both courses of action, but perhaps one outweighs the other. Abortion be the lesser in your opinion, oneweeklygun, and keeping the children, in the argument of arborvitae03. You both offer your own kinds of medicine it seems, each informed by your opinions and beliefs, but I don’t think we are qualified nor able to decide which is the better or the worse. I have my opinions about the situation, but in the end, what are they worth when I myself have not experienced such a situation?
The emotional terrors/damages to the heart seem something that only a god, or God could heal.
“Where are you manners?” Where are yours, sir? To have a reverence for life, no matter what your opinion on abortion is, is nothing short of noble. So do not slap someone on the wrist for caring, even when yourself might not hold the same opinion.
Hi Eric
Thank you very much for your comment.
I can say, that we agree most of the way. Your point about us not being able to judge the situation of this innocent once-pregnant girl is spot on. I would never claim, that abortion is to prefer in her case. My mission is another.
I refuse to accept the interference of the catholic church along the same line. And I am certainly no spokeman for abortion as a complete and harmless solution in this case. What I’m saying is, that the church is in no way in a position to judge upon this girl’s situation or the doctors who did their job. What makes me real mad is that they refer to the laws of God in this conflict. This is where our agreement stops, beacuse I’m not sure that is so ‘noble’ to have something undefined from outside laying out the lines between right or wrong. Respect for life itself is noble in my opinion (I am here not commenting on whether this always is the case no matter what anyone thinks, as you have stated) and I do belive we should guard the values of life.
But I cannot accept that a church, of all things, is in the position to judge upon the events in this girl’s life. Neither am I. I’m not sure that this abortion carries less pain than if the girl had given birth to the children. That’s your conclusion about what I think, not mine.
Hej Peter-far
