Hi world
This week saw the solving of one of the great mysteries of historic astronomy, as the remains of the Polish scientist Nicolaus Copernicus has been confirmed. Parts of him was actually found three years ago, but until now it has only been a qualified guess, that it was Copernicus. DNA-tests solved the mystery.

Copernicus - or Kopernikus, as he is known in German writings - is the father of our astnomic perception today. Most notably he discovered, that the earth circles around the sun, as opposed to what was believed in his day. Back then the common perception was, that the earth is the center of all things - including the universe.
This week’s song is a delayed obituary and is dedicated to Copernicus and his legacy.

Born in 1473
Lived nearly half-way through the 1600th century
He spoke for heliocentric cosmology
Which forms the base of modern astronomy
Although not the first
To descibe the Earth
As not being the center of the Universe
Concerns about his time’s mentality
Delayed publication of his master piece
On the day of death in 1543
Recieved the copy of the epiphany
De Revolutionibus
By Copernicus
Consists of seven assumptions divided into six books.
We love Copernicus
We love Copernicus
We love Copernicus
We love him as one of us

Hi Pan
Now let’s not get to excited about this. Let’s count to ten.
I believe Copernicus signed himself: ‘Coppernic’ but the Polish rendering is Mikołaj Kopernik. I have chosen the Latin vesion.
That’s right I don’t speak or sing in Polish.
And no, Copernicus did was not born in my country.
And yes, I will learn a world.
And no, I’m not on the Late Letterman show.
But I hope Czeslaw Spiewa somday will be.
This is indeed a reality
